mussurunga - that is the name which is used by the complete body inked cousins sigi aigner and didi bruckmayr for their outstanding performances on club dance-parties, festivals, free-parties and weddings in the home- and foreign-countries since more than two years. at their shows they use deep bass-lines, demanding beats, gentle hooklines and raging 3-d objects. the large sized mr. state-opera-chorister aigner and the dwarfish universal-bush-leaguer dr. bruckmayr also are known for their benedictional work with the performance-group fuckhead, for them they count as finded minds. mussurunga is a frowing suburb of the brazilian provincial capital salvador da bahia, which aigner and bruckmay vistied job related. while one of them waited without success for a date in mussurunga and spent all the spondulix which was meant for the taxi, the other one worked very hard in the regional beach-bars on artistic concepts. the result of this jobshare is, among other things, the present ep.

composing an entire electronic album around the notorious 15th century cult of assassins, new jersey based producer jorge velez (italians do it better, thisnotanexit), better known as professor genius, has created a unique and ambitious piece of work, under the guise of hassan, which strongly stands apart from his previous efforts. check!

psst! shtum is the new sublabel of dresdens uncanny valley and it is created for proper techno and raw house tracks, music best listened to in a room full of strobe light and fog. right at the start youll get monomood with three dark and powerful tracks. parameter one is one of those techno stompers you cant help but fiercely nod your head to. the lyrics in the crafter might suggest it but actually nobody is afraid of the dark. not even after hell breaks loose with unrelenting chords. also, vault takes no prisoners while keeping the cellar door shut with its nasty acid lines and raw drum work. the musical concept has been interpreted visually by aram haydeyan and uncanny valley artist jacob stoy.

anders wasserfall from oslo has dedicated his work as a producer to warm sounds and floating atmospheres. this lead to music that earned him releases by greta cottage workshop, soul shift music and bleepsequence. his music starts off chains of associations, blissful deepness, cloudy horizons and dimmed lights start spreading in listeners heads.

eddie flashin fowlkes has always fancied himself as the forgotten producer of the detroit militia, a point which he explicitly points to on the title of this new release for the detroit wax imprint. >unsung hero< is, interestingly enough, quite noticeably un-detroit sounding, rolling on a killer funky 2-step groove and breezy keys which would slot in nicely against the mellower end of uk garage. on the flip >we need more< takes a stripped approach to house with some strange and submerged vocals from don q and restrained organ stabs, leaving it to the steadfast, bongo-laden groove to do most of the work. unsung hero indeed!

2014 repress !! we think we do not have to introduce sven weisemann, but for all of you who are not familiar with his work... sven has released on top labels such as delsin, smallfish, echocord, liebe detail and maybe the label he is mostly associated with is mojuba records, which is based in berlin. his release for telrae starts with elapse a track so detached from everything and at the same time so earthly, it gains that mystic touch some trax radiate. it is again a timeless track on telrae what we think is a quality we strive for. light sway seems harder at first but turns out to be more melodic and light than elapse and so the title fits it just right!

after a well noticed appearance on the dame-music 015 >klub klub elite vol.2< with the track >dam beat for klub david k is back on bloody marys imprint for his own solo ep. >insane dub< ep< unveil a three tracks single from david ks best rhythm and sounds exclusively to dame-music. the man and the machines have done the work. following his huge success on >rue de la plaisance< and not to forget his touch on visionquest >fall winter collection< david has also produced music for labels such as freak n chic, tsuba and the disreputable and widely known cocoon.

its time for the second release on diamonds and pearls in 2012. two of the most singular and distinct forces in house and techno today team up for a special sonic treat. we are talking about the two alechmists xdb and kassem mosse. so get yourself ready for two extended journeys into techno, house and beyond. xdbs >ekatem< is a driving, rough and ready house track with a beautifully bubbling square bassline and dirty synth work. on the flip xdb is joined by kassem mosse for an exploration into the outer reaches of house music. omrish is a gritty-yet-atmospheric jam, full of shimmering chords and floating synth melodies which are puntuated by double kicks and crisp cymbals. mesmerizing stuff.

the parameters of musical possibility are vast on valgeir sigurdssons third lp, architecture of loss. the music flows from no notes at all to lyrical, folk-like melody, from spare, acoustic sound to dense digital intervention. originally composed for the same titled ballet by stephen petronio. architecture of loss is a powerful work in its own right in which valgeir works from a broad palette of absences.

young marco made a big impression to a new lot of listeners at the beginning of 2012 with his esp institute debut, nonono / darwin in bahia (played by dixon and james murphy amongst others). the young man from amsterdam now returns with a sister 12inch to his nonono, a perfectly complimentary piece of wax that maintains his esoteric stance on house music, and proves that hes no one-trick pony. video days blends marcos signature analog synth work with tribal rhythms and a loose sense of narrative, while the flipside later than u think takes a more cheeky approach, pairing a blissfully stabbing core melody with a mousey counter-melody and setting it all over some huge tom-heavy drum programming. these songs are the perfect close to a beautiful summer, whether youre lost in euphoria as the sun comes up, or simply dancing around your kitchen in the nude.
